Monkey Kingdom and Channel 4 wanted a six-episode web TV spin-off show for their Christmas gameshow, Home For The Holidays. The TV series ran live on Channel 4 each night during the week running up to Christmas - presented by Vernon Kay - with the web show running straight after the main show. We had just a few weeks to prepare.

Together with the Social Media Factory - who led the creative and production elements - we managed all aspects of the web TV spin-off, called ‘Home For The Holidays Extra Stuffing’. It was a stand-alone show, complementing the main TV show.

Extra Stuffing had its own set, its own production crew and its own presenter, Charlie Baker. It ran each night for 30 minutes straight after the TV show - with the Channel 4 continuity announcer driving the audience onto the web through public announcements.
Charlie Baker presented each Extra Stuffing show - with guests including Vernon Kay, Peter Andre, members of the house and members of the production crew.

We used a three camera set-up - and provided all equipment including the broadcast cameras, lighting, sound, video and audio mixers and broadcast equipment. The broadcast ran over an internet connection from the set.
Social media was used to raise awareness - as well as inviting viewers to participate via comments and questions, which went through moderation for compliance and editorial purposes, before being delivered live to the presenter (Charlie Baker) on an iPad.
The show was a great success - and fun for the viwers, who were able to participate in a way that isn’t possible using traditional TV.
